Elise is a senior undergraduate from Hendrix College participating in the LSU CCT REU program. She studies computational biochemistry with a concentration in enzyme modeling using quantum mechanics (QM) and molecular dynamics (MD) techniques. Elise will explore how these tools can help understand enzyme function and predict antibiotic resistance mutations.

Angel is a senior undergraduate double majoring in Statistics and Economics, with a minor in Computer Science. She brings expertise in statistical modeling and machine learning as she develops data-driven approaches to economics and health science problems.

Their projects will strengthen the Klem Lab’s summer research program by combining computational enzymology, machine learning, and predictive modeling. Learn more about Elise and Angel on the People page.
